Joe Flynn

Richard Kelvin

Richard enjoyed a 35 year career in the Oil and Gas Industry in the UK and in the US. He is a graduate of University College London (BSc Exploration Geophysics and MSc Computer Science and Electronic Engineering). He has lived in Houston since 1997 and is married to Mandy and father to Emma.
A firm believer in team building through community engagement, Richard encouraged his work colleagues to become involved with their local School District (SBISD). Richard was a mentor to two middle school boys. He served on the board of The Spring Branch Family Development Center and the Spring Branch Education Foundation.
Richard’s interest in health and fitness is relatively new but has become a passion of his. In 2021 he won the British Rowing Indoor Championships (M55-59) and the Canadian Rowing Indoor Championships. In 2022 he was 3rd in the World Rowing Indoor Championships. He continues to erg, bike ride and lift weights and at the weekends he can be found in our Men’s Masters Quad.
He is a US Rowing Level 1 coach and is currently working on his ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) Personal Trainer Certification.
