The Learn To Row Program is specifically designed for beginners who have no former rowing experience. Following the USRowing guidelines, our program gives each individual the tools to become a rower - whether their goal is to become a recreational, weekend rower or to row at a competitive level.
Structured, Defined
The program includes three classes: one on land and two on the water. As the Rowing Club of The Woodlands is a non-profit organization, it is taught by a group of volunteers, many of whom have hundreds of hours of rowing experience. Due to equipment and volunteer limitations, the maximum number of beginning rowers allowed is 12 per class.
Costs & Benefits
The cost for the program including all three classes is $180.00 for a resident of The Woodlands and $190.00 for a non-resident. Because we partner with our Silver Sponsor, The Woodlands Parks and Recreation, checks are made payable to The Woodlands Parks and Recreation. The Woodlands Parks and Recreation is the governing body for recreational activities in The Woodlands including parks and lakes.
Optionally, individuals can choose to do a Private Session with our Learn To Row Coordinator. The cost is $240.00 and made payable to The Woodlands Parks and Recreation.
After completing the program, all rowers are eligible to become a member the Rowing Club of The Woodlands. Club membership is $300.00 per year and provides access to Club equipment at any time (singles, doubles, or quad sculling boats).
